Full Of Charm

Architects Rachel and Chris were looking for a site to build a modern family home when they fell for the charm of this beautiful old mill house in the Co. Down countryside.

[dropcap style=”square”]W[/dropcap]hen it came to finding their first home as a married couple, Rachel and Chris set their sights on purchasing a site and building their own home. As Rachel explains, ‘As architects, Chris and I had wanted to design our own home. It would have been contemporary in its design, however, it was to be this historic mill house that caught our eye. We both fell in love with it as soon as we saw it, and while neither of us had experience of working on historic buildings before, we were certainly willing to take on the challenge.’
