My Favourite Room

Carrie McGowan’s Athlone home originally belonged to her grandmother. The living room holds particular sentimental appeal as well as a host of treasured family memories, as she explains.

[dropcap style=”square”]I[/dropcap] am a working mum and have been married to my childhood sweetheart, Noel, for the past six years. During this time we have welcomed three beautiful boys into our family – Alfie (6), Freddie (3) and Paidi, our newest addition, who is five months old. I absolutely live for my family – to the point where when I am asked about hobbies and interests I always feel as if I should have something else to say that makes me sound more interesting! The truth is, I love nothing more than spending time with those I care for most. Whether it is a daily phone call to the parents (which I am sure they love!), bedtime chats with the kids, or catching up with the great friends I am lucky to have them in my life. I love to live in the moment as best as I can and enjoy the occasional trip abroad to warmer climates – I am not a fan of the cold!
