Adding a rug to the rooms of your home, particularly over a wooden floor, will add a nice aesthetic to the space but the benefits go way beyond style.

[dropcap style=”square”]R[/dropcap]ugs that have a rubber or latex backing sometimes have chemicals that can discolour the flooring underneath. To avoid this, it is advisable to use rugs with a woven backing of natural fibres. As well as being more environmentally friendly, there will be no adverse reaction between the rug and the planks underneath, ensuring the floor looks better for longer. If you’re worried about the rug slipping, use a felt underlay to keep everything in place.
