[dropcap style=”square”]N[/dropcap]ow that spring is here, it’s the perfect time to rejuvenate the wilderness of overgrown pots and rotting fence posts. Deirdre Prince has a few simple tricks to get you started.

Try to be as ruthless as you can be with your planted beds. Are all the plants blooming and performing, as they should? Are you holding on to plants for sentimental reasons? I have a rule in my garden that I can remove a plant (relatively guilt free) after three years if it is not pleasing me in anyway. I find it very therapeutic to be removing a plant that has lost its place because it is lacklustre, but if truth be known, its normally because I want to plant another flower and I need to make space for it. It is also a great way to make a clean sweep of a tired looking bed and invigorate it with a new planting combination.
