Planned to Perfection
[dropcap style=”square”]C[/dropcap]arol from Celbridge researched her new kitchen for over three years, so she knew exactly the style and design she wanted. After being impressed by an O’Connors of Drumleck kitchen in a magazine, she visited their showroom and fell in love with one of their designs from their new collection. The rest is history.
My previous kitchen had shaker style cabinets in natural beech that was laid out in a traditional L-shape,’ explains Carol. ‘The style was outdated and the units provided inadequate storage space and there was limited counter space. Superficially, the kitchen looked fine and even attracted compliments from friends and visitors. Nonetheless, I disliked it from the outset when the house was purchased new in 1999. However, I made a conscious decision not to replace it for at least 10 years as it was entirely fit for purpose despite its limitations. For approximately three years prior to replacing the kitchen, I started to think about replacing the kitchen. The event that finally triggered the decision to replace was an insidious leak from the tap of a water filter unit which damaged the cupboard under the sink.’
