Dunfanaghy

[dropcap style=”square”]T[/dropcap]he village of Dunfanaghy is situated on the Wild Atlantic Way, overlooking the beautiful shores of Sheephaven Bay on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, surrounded by Blue Flag beaches, and overlooked by the majestic Derryveagh Mountains of Donegal. It is easy to understand why a phrase you will often here in the village is, ‘where else would you get it?’

Within the village of Dunfanaghy you will find every amenity imaginable for a superb holiday, and yet the village has managed to maintain its architectural, cultural and scenic beauty.

Things to see and do

For the active amongst us, there is a superb 18 hole links golf course, surfing and surf schools, horse-riding, hill walking and rock climbing, and for others there are beautiful sandy beaches and walks. There are also numerous bars, pubs and restaurants, offering food and wine, song and dance.

Some of Ireland’s most beautiful beaches, cliffs, headlands and forest parks can be found in the area around Dunfanaghy. The village overlooks the magnificant Horn Head, adjacent to the blue flag Kilahoey beach with its golden sands and crystal clear water.
