Often many homeowners reach a point when the house they’ve called home for years no longer has the space or amenities they need. Perhaps they need another bedroom for a growing family, it’s time to set up that home office they’ve always wanted, or maybe more kitchen or entertaining space is needed. To solve this problem you could buy a new, bigger house with more bedrooms or bigger bedrooms, and maybe even a bigger garage. But it’s often not as simple as that; there’s the problem of selling yours and you may need another huge mortgage to pay for it all. Then there’s stamp duty and all the other fees and charges that can mount up.

Thankfully, there’s another answer. One that doesn’t involve leaving the area that you’re used to or trying to sell a house – build an extension. Sometimes households find themselves with the difficult decision of whether to sell or extend and if, after much deliberation, you decide to create more space with an extension you’ll find there are significant advantages.
