A Dockland Oasis

[dropcap style=”square”]I[/dropcap]t’s very rare that the perfect client comes along, but everyone who worked on this project agreed that Lynn and Salvatore were a dream to work for, with a deep and well-informed interest in design, and a willingness to pitch in and work hard to achieve the home they wanted.

In 2013, Aviation Leasing Manager Lynn Guiney, with lecturer husband Salvatore Fugazotto and four-year-old daughter Marina, were living in a contemporary apartment in Dublin’s fashionable Docklands and on the hunt for a new home. ‘I had heard about a hidden gem, a Victorian square with a green in Dublin’s city centre that few people know about, as long ago as 2000’, explains Lynn. ‘During the boom years, houses in the square in need of complete renovation were fetching up to £1 million, but I always kept a watching brief.’

Then when a house in Lynn’s favourite square came up for sale, Salvatore too was impressed by the unique location. ‘It’s a small oasis in Dublin’s docklands, with a safe little green for Marina to play in. The house was high-ceilinged and had classic proportions, so from the very first viewing, I started to plan what I wanted to do with it,’ he says.
