My Home: Kenmare

Photographer Lynda Kenny shares the best of where she calls home, the beautiful town of Kemare in Co. Kerry.

[dropcap style=”square”]A[/dropcap]long with my husband Jon and son Ethan, I moved to the picturesque town of Kenmare in 2018. Originally from Cong in Co. Mayo, I missed living in the country. We had bought a house in Cork in 2006 and like so many more, got hit badly by the recession. It wasn’t until 2018 before we got out of negative equity and decided we wanted our son, who was just about to start school, to grow up closer to my sister’s boys in Kenmare. It was the best move we ever made, family wise, career wise, lifestyle wise and overall contentment! The next big project for us is to renovate an eighties bungalow we bought late last year. It took us three years to find the perfect place that was within walking distance to town. We also really wanted to take on a project that would allow us to put our own stamp on it.
