Dressing a window is important not just for aesthetic reasons but because it helps keep the heat in and drafts out, which helps reduce your heating bills! With that said, it is important to get the right look for your rooms while keeping it practical. First you can decide whether light flow is important; if you want the option of darkness then you need to go for lined curtains, but if you are okay with light filtering through, or if the curtains are purely decorative, unlined will work. A lined curtain will protect your home from drafts a bit more so that is worth baring in mind.
